VACATION @ THE AIRPORT (23 DECEMBER 2009)
We had accummulated enough points from our travels to redeem a free night's stay at any hotel belonging to InterContinental Hotels Group (http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/). Since there were no plans to go abroad in the pipeline and the points would expire by the end of the year, we decided to have a mini-vacation at InterContinental Hotels Group's latest addition in Singapore, the Crowne Plaza Hotel at Changi Airport. Beverly's family joined us on that day.
For Xmas, a massive jumping castle had been erected in Terminal Three, opposite the entrance to the Crowne Plaza Hotel. We arrived at the jumping castle at 1130 hrs and quickly joined the queue for the free 15-min playtime at the castle. The air-filled castle was very bouncy and we had loads of fun bouncing down the slide. Every 15 mins, artificial snowflakes would be blown from the top of the castle. It was simply magical.

When it was time for lunch, we trooped over to the Kopitiam foodcourt at Basement Two of Terminal Three. We had time to kill before we could check into the hotel, so we took our time with lunch and amused ourselves at the playground near the foodcourt.
Finally, at 1400 hrs, the room was ready. It was a beautiful room with a lovely bathtub. At same point today, we must have a bubble-bath! Mommy thought Su Ann would want to nap, but she was wrong. On seeing the super-comfy bed, all Su Ann wanted to do was to jump on it.

We explored the grounds of the hotel, and checked out its swimming pool. Swimming had to wait, as all the kids wanted another go at the massive jumping castle.

At 1630 hrs, Mommy pulled us away from the jumping castle and suggested we took the skytrain to Terminal Two. The drinking fountain at Terminal Two was one of the highlights of our day. It was such fun drinking from the fountain that Mommy really had to drag us away from it.

From Terminal Two, we caught the free shuttle bus to the Budget Terminal, where Su Ann made friends with a girl at the playground.
It was close to 1800 hrs by the time we were done at the playground. Gosh! Where had the whole afternoon gone? We hadn't even swum at the hotel's pool and we still had the Musical Ball Competition to take part in at Terminal Three.
Whilst waiting for the shuttle bus to Terminal Two, Beverly's brother, Winston, and Su Ann fell asleep. We decided to return to the hotel, so Winston and Su Ann could rest comfortably. Once back at the hotel, however, Winston and Su Ann awoke and refused to nap anymore. It was dinnertime anyway, Ronald MacDonald beckoned.
After dinner, we rushed to the Musical Ball and we were in time for the 2000 hrs competition. There were prizes to be won by catching the correct ping pong ball. Lucky Su Ann! With Ning Che Che's help, she won a backpack. The rest of us weren't so lucky, but there were plenty of candies for everyone anyway.

By the time we returned to the hotel, it was almost 2100 hrs. Too late for the pool, but we could still have a bubble bath! We had a splashing good time cleaning ourselves.

At 2200 hrs, we snapped a final shot at the hotel room and checked out. The bed was big enough for 4 kids, but too bad, I couldn't convince the adults to sleep on the sofa and in the bathtub, so home sweet home it had to be.
