TURNING FIVE (3 & 6 DECEMBER 2009)

"Ding dong..." The doorbell rang, and there stood Gwen and her big brother, Enzo, at my front door first thing in the morning on 3 December 2009. They had come clutching a birthday present for me, and they wanted to take me to school. How thoughtful of them!


Midway through class, another lovely surprise greeted me in school. Ah Gong, Daddy, Sri Che Che and Ning Che Che showed up in class with a birthday cake, party packs for all my friends, and my lil' sister, Su Ann, to entertain the class. Everyone had a wicked time!

That wasn't the end of my birthday celebrations. That Sunday, Mommy organized a family lunch at the Spice Brasserie at ParkRoyal Hotel on Kitchener Road. I put on my brand-new red dress and gold heels for the occasion. The beautiful red dress was a birthday gift from Grandma Nancy and Ah Ma had bought me those smashing gold heels.


After a very filling buffet lunch, the family checked out the newly-opened CitySquare Mall opposite the hotel. Quite the run-of-the-mill mall. We didn't stay long, as my second birthday cake was awaiting its collection. Mommy had ordered a pink ice-cream cake from Swensen's for me.


The day ended in style with Daddy and Mommy taking me to the Xmas foam party at IMM. IMM has got to be the most child-friendly mall in the entire universe. They've this massive water play area and playground for kids to play for free all year round, and they host the best parties for kids at Xmas. In addition to the foam party, they had a bubble play area and everything was free. Parking was free too. Unbelievable but true!
